Hamilton Health Care System, a nonprofit hospital located in Dalton, Georgia, has announced its agreement to purchase Tennova Healthcare Cleveland, the largest hospital in Cleveland, Tennessee for $160 million. This acquisition is aimed at expanding the organization’s operations into Southeast Tennessee. The sale of the hospital is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2024 pending regulatory approvals.
Community Health Systems, which has been operating the Cleveland hospital under the Tennova name for nearly ten years, will sell all subsidiaries and medical offices as part of the deal. Jeff Myers, CEO of Hamilton Health Care System emphasized that their primary focus is on providing quality care to the community as a not-for-profit and one of the few remaining independent health systems in the area.
By acquiring Tennova Healthcare Cleveland, Hamilton Health Care System aims to improve healthcare access and services in Southeast Tennessee. The hospital consists of 351 beds and will provide a range of care options to residents in the region. The acquisition will allow Hamilton Health Care System to further its mission and provide high-quality healthcare services to people who need it most.
