At the 2024 Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony, faculty and staff members were recognized for their exceptional work and contributions to the College of Public Health. A total of 20 individuals were honored on April 19 for their outstanding achievements over the past year. The ceremony, which took place in the College’s auditorium, acknowledged individuals who have excelled in teaching, research, leadership and have shown a strong commitment to advancing the College’s missions and values.
Dean Melissa Perry opened the ceremony by expressing her gratitude to all faculty and staff for their dedication to the college’s mission and values. She highlighted how their hard work has contributed to the continuous improvement and evolution of college programs, which is evident in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.
Individuals from all departments within the College of Public Health (GCH, HAP, NUTR, SW, Nursing), College-wide staff, and those who have received honors at the university level were recognized during the ceremony. Awards were distributed by Lisa Joyner, Executive Director of Finance and Administration, who personally congratulated each winner on their achievement in their respective categories.
The winners were nominated by their colleagues through a rigorous process that involved submitting nominations to department chairs. These nominations were reviewed by department chairs before selecting official nominees. An ad hoc committee comprised of last year’s winners was responsible for determining the final award recipients based on these official nominees.
