St. Hubert hosted a Women in Technology Conference at the new Connelly Arts and Design Center last week, which was sponsored by Cisco Systems. The event coincided with International Girls in Information and Communication Technology Day, focusing on the theme of Leadership this year.
The keynote speaker for the conference was Jeanine Heck, a 1995 graduate of St. Hubert who is now the Senior Vice President of Entertainment Product at Comcast. Various speakers shared their insights during the event, including Terry Grogan from Tower Health, Christi Finnegan from TMNA Services, Gladys Kline from ThousandEyes (a part of Cisco), Gretchen Area from Campbell Soup Company, Alyson Andreas from Campbell Soup Company, Monique St. John from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and Patty Vollmar from Colgate-Palmolive.
The conference attracted students from St. Hubert, Little Flower, and Archbishop Ryan as well as state Sen. Jimmy Dillon who is the minority-party chairman of the Senate Communications & Technology Committee. The attendees learned about leadership strategies and how to overcome challenges in their careers while also networking with other women in technology fields.
