The FIT-Together program, a family-centered initiative that focuses on health and wellness, is now open for registrations at Franciscan Health Michigan City. This six-week fitness program is designed for families with children aged 8 to 15, with the goal of improving the well-being of every family member.
The program emphasizes healthy choices in physical activities, relationships, and emotional health. Activities include family-centered exercises led by Trainer Ron Gaston, cooking and meal preparation sessions with Chef Nakia, and discussions about nutritional facts. Participants will also receive weekly meal kits for their entire household.
Throughout the program, participants will learn the seven Cs of family resilience, which include control, competence, coping, confidence, connection, character, and contribution. FIT-Together sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 4 to July 18, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time at The Temple Total Fitness Center in Michigan City. Comfortable clothing and gym shoes are recommended for all sessions.
This program is made possible through partnerships with Franciscan Health Michigan City, General Insurance Services, Bowen Center, Kia Can Cook
