A shooting occurred Friday morning near the Eastgate Town Center, with a 27-year-old man being hit. The incident took place at around 10:00 am in the parking lot of the Eastgate Town Center area. According to Victor Miller of the Chattanooga Police Department, the victim was walking towards a business when a suspect or suspects began shooting at them, resulting in life-threatening injuries.
We spoke with someone who was inside the Tennessee Community Counseling Services and DUI school at the time of the shooting, who said they heard two gunshots and that the victim came inside the building. Across from where the shooting happened is Molly Maid, where office manager Sheena Crow shared her experience. Sheena said she heard popping noises but didn’t realize what it could be until she saw firetrucks and ambulances arriving on the scene.
The incident raises concerns among locals, particularly given that it follows another shooting at T-Mobile on Brainerd Road just weeks ago. As a result, businesses are now keeping their doors locked more tightly and making sure their employees have keys to access their premises securely.
