The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a perfect homestand with a 3-1 victory over the Miami Marlins, extending their winning streak to six games. Teoscar Hernández hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning that drove in all three runs for the Dodgers. Freddie Freeman started the inning with a double, and Hernández followed with a home run off Ryan Weathers.
The game lasted just 1 hour and 55 minutes as the Dodgers’ starting rotation continued to impress during the homestand. Gavin Stone pitched seven innings, giving up only one run on six hits with four strikeouts. Five starters went at least six innings and posted a 2.33 ERA with 31 strikeouts and only four walks.
Daniel Hudson closed out the game, retiring the Marlins in order for his second save of the season. Weathers took the loss for Miami, allowing three runs and five hits in six innings. Injuries continue to impact the Marlins as RHP Edward Cabrera was placed on the injured list for the second time this season, while LHP Braxton Garrett was reinstated from the IL and will start on Sunday against Philadelphia.
Up next, the Marlins will face off against their NL East rivals, the Philadelphia Phillies, in a three-game series starting on Friday. Trevor Rogers will start for Miami, while Tyler Glasnow will pitch for Los Angeles as they head to San Diego to take on the Padres in another three-game series starting on Saturday.
