Tara Lawrence, the owner of a goat registry, provides goats to customers across the country for shows and fairs. To be eligible for awards, these goats require documentation from Tara. However, recently, the paperwork has been misplaced in transit, causing financial losses to her business.
Karen Snow, a long-time employee of Tara’s goat business, revealed that most of their business takes place in Canada, California, Florida, Georgia, and New Hampshire. Despite this, Tara has only experienced issues with the USPS twice in 15 years.
Tara relies on USPS to deliver critical documents promptly as her business thrives on postal services daily. Unfortunately, since February, they have encountered problems with lost packages that have impacted their cash flow as a company.
Despite multiple attempts to contact USPS through phone calls and online channels, Tara and Karen have not received a response from them yet. The misplaced documents are having significant consequences for their business and clients because they are necessary for children to exhibit animals at county fairs.
Currently, Tara has about eight packages missing with USPS worth over $1200 in losses. She must reissue these documents to her customers at an additional expense. WBRC has reached out to USPS regarding mail delays and promises to communicate with Tara once they receive a response from them.
Updates on this situation will be provided on air and online as soon as a statement from USPS is received.
