This summer, children have the chance to embark on an educational and engaging experience through Heal the Bay’s Aquarium Science Camp in Santa Monica. The camp focuses on teaching kids about the intriguing water systems in the area.
Heal the Bay is an environmental nonprofit organization that works tirelessly to keep the coastal waters and watersheds of Greater Los Angeles safe, healthy, and clean. Throughout the year, they offer a range of programs and camps designed to spark a love for science and learning in students.
The Aquarium Science Camp runs from June 24 to July 26 and provides a hands-on learning opportunity for children to explore the ocean, delve into the natural world, and deepen their knowledge of marine science. Each week, campers get to immerse themselves in different ocean environments, interact with live animals at the Aquarium, spend time at the beach, play games, and learn how to become stewards for the ocean.
Kelly Kelly, the Associate Director of Aquarium Education at Heal the Bay, emphasizes that the camp activities are designed to make learning fun and engaging for kids. Through experiences like digging in the sand, discovering sand crabs and other exciting activities, children develop a passion for science and the ocean.
