A 10-foot-wide house in Jacksonville Beach, Florida is currently on the market for $619,000. The icon in the shape of an angle pointing down indicates that the house has sparked controversy among the neighborhood.
The 1,547-square-foot home was constructed on a narrow 25-foot-wide lot that was previously used as a garden by one of the neighbors. Despite initial objections from some members of the community, Ryan Wetherhold of Oceanside Real Estate and builder John Atkins were able to successfully complete the project.
The two-story house even includes space for a garage. Despite facing challenges such as limited space and community opposition, Wetherhold and Atkins were able to attract buyer interest for this unique property.
During a public hearing, neighbors expressed their concerns about the construction of the house, especially one who had used the lot as a garden. However, their objections did not deter Wetherhold and Atkins from completing the project with determination. In fact, they were only able to build a 10-foot-wide home instead of their initially planned 15-foot-wide home. Despite this challenge, potential buyers have been drawn to its low maintenance lifestyle and unique design.
