Ezekiel Guevarra, a senior at Clemson University majoring in Packaging Science with a minor in Business Administration, is known for his hard work and dedication. He has consistently made the Dean’s List and President’s List at Clemson University, showcasing his commitment to academic excellence. Guevarra has completed a co-op rotation and internship with Sonoco, where he developed a sustainable whey protein powder brand. In his senior year, he worked on a project to redesign pancake mix packaging for sustainability, further solidifying his passion for sustainable packaging design. Guevarra is also a member of the Clemson Packaging Science Club and plans to pursue a Master of Science in Packaging Science under Dr. Duncan Darby’s guidance.
On the other hand, Sarah Dumont is another outstanding senior at Clemson University majoring in Packaging Science with a focus on Food and Healthcare Packaging. She is actively involved in various extracurricular activities, including Tiger Band, Phi Kappa Phi, and the Packaging Science Club. Dumont also serves on the Dean’s Student Advisory Board for the Department of Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences. Through her research projects related to zero-waste event planning and sustainable waste management at Clemson’s Center for Flexible Packaging, she has gained experience in film testing for industry partners and graduate research. Additionally, her co-op experience at Burt’s Bees has developed her skills in sustainable packaging design, leading to her recognition with the Printpack Sustainability Scholarship in 2023.
