The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is honoring Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month by debuting a temporary exhibit that highlights the contributions, scientific achievements, and impact of AAPI scientists and engineers. The exhibit, set to launch on May 1 and run through May 31, will be located in the museum’s Periodic Hall and will feature individuals such as microbiologist Yee Ching Wong-Staal, known for her work in AIDS research, and Ellison Onizuka, the first person of Japanese descent to fly in space.
According to Jennifer Hayden, the president and CEO of the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, the museum is honored to recognize the achievements and contributions of these outstanding individuals.
