The National Lacrosse League has announced the nominations for the 2023-24 regular season Most Valuable Player award. Buffalo Bandits forwards Josh Byrne and Dhane Smith, along with Toronto Rock goalie Nick Rose, are in contention for the title.
In addition to MVP recognition, both Byrne and Smith are also up for Offensive Player of the Year honors. Ian MacKay of the Bandits is also a candidate for Transition Player of the Year.
The NLL will reveal the winners of each category before the start of the 2024 Finals. The Bandits will be defending champions as they face off against Albany FireWolves in their quest for a back-to-back league championship. The first game of the Finals will take place on May 17 in Albany.
