Nine Pan American teams have secured their places in the 2024 World Relay Championship in Paris, with the United States leading the way. The US has qualified four teams for the Olympic Games, including women’s and men’s 4x100m races, as well as the women’s 4x400m mixed relay. Canada and Dominican Republic have also earned tickets to Paris at a weekend event held in the Bahamas.
The United States dominated the competition, setting a new championship record with a time of 3:10.73 in the grand final of the mixed relay. Team Panam Sports ambassador Marileidy Paulino led her team to second place in that event, securing another spot for the Caribbean region in Paris.
In addition to the US and Canada, several other countries from around the world have qualified for various relays at Paris 2024. These include Australia, France, Germany, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Nigeria, Poland, South Africa and China for men’s 4x100m; France, Italy and Japan for women’s 4x100m; Canada and Great Britain & Northern Ireland for women’s 4x400m; Belgium for men’s 4x400m; Botswana for men’s and women’s 4x100m; Nigeria and South Africa for men’s and women’s 4×1
