Bill Nye, the iconic science educator and TV personality known as “the Science Guy,” will be in Central Texas for the total solar eclipse on April 8. As part of his ongoing efforts to promote science education and inspire young people to pursue careers in STEM fields, Nye is hosting a two-day camping experience in Fredericksburg with The Planetary Society.
The Eclipse-O-Rama event will feature a lineup of expert speakers, interactive activities, delicious food, and the opportunity to witness the eclipse alongside Nye himself. Speakers include YouTuber Mark Rober, science educator Science Bob, and Planetary Society radio host Sarah Al-Ahmed. Tickets for the festival cost $325 per person and cover daytime programming from Sunday through Monday night. Children aged 5 and younger can attend for free.
However, attendance at the Eclipse-O-Rama festival is exclusive to members of The Planetary Society. If you’re not already a member, you can become one by paying a one-time annual fee of $50 during the registration process. To learn more about the festival and purchase tickets, visit eventscloud.com.
