In May, residents of Oregon will have the chance to support their local economy by voting in favor of the Oregon Zoo bond. The zoo is not only a fun and educational destination for families, seniors, and children, but it also plays a crucial role in driving economic activity throughout the region.
The zoo attracts over 1.3 million visitors annually, many of whom come from outside the area. These visitors contribute to the local economy by staying in hotels, shopping at local businesses, and dining at restaurants. The zoo’s impact goes beyond its own operations, creating a positive ripple effect that benefits the entire community.
Measure 26-244 is on the ballot and will provide funding for much-needed infrastructure upgrades at the Oregon Zoo. These improvements will help the zoo continue to be a major economic driver for the region without raising current tax rates. Supporting the Oregon Zoo bond is an excellent investment in our local economy.
As a board member of the Oregon Zoo Foundation, I urge all voters to support this measure by voting yes on Measure 26-244. This decision will help ensure that the zoo remains a cultural hub and economic driver in our community for years to come. Let’s vote yes on Measure 26-244 to support our local economy and our beloved Oregon Zoo!
