The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center, located at the University of Arkansas, recently received recognition for their exceptional performance at the 2024 ASBTDC Spring Network Meeting in Little Rock. The center’s director, Mary Beth Brooks, was honored with the Capital Acquisition Award of Excellence for helping clients secure $14 million in loans and capital investments. Additionally, business consultant Lori Lieblong received recognition for her role in assisting clients with $7 million in capital acquisitions.
In addition to their financial achievements, Catherine Corley and Carolina Mejia were also recognized as Values Ambassadors for their exceptional service, integrity, collaboration, impact, and inclusion within the organization. This award recognizes the outstanding contributions made by employees to the success of the organization.
The ASBTDC serves small businesses in Northwest Arkansas by providing free and confidential one-on-one consulting services, as well as in-person and virtual trainings and workshops. Their offices are located in Fayetteville and Bentonville, allowing entrepreneurs easy access to resources and support to help them succeed in their business ventures.
Funded through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration and partnering with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, ASBTDC is a unit of the Division of Economic Development within the university. Their mission is to support small businesses in Arkansas and contribute to the economic growth of the state by providing essential resources and guidance to entrepreneurs at all stages of development.
