The European Union’s Digital Markets Law has designated iPadOS as a market access guardian and mandated that it open up to external applications, requiring Apple to make changes to the operating system. Epic Games announced on Twitter (X) that they are working to bring Fortnite and their own digital store to iPads in the EU, following their successful return to iOS devices. This move is in response to the Digital Markets Act, which requires iPads to comply with the law within the European Union. As a result of these changes, Apple will have to modify iPadOS, enabling users more control over their applications and support for downloading apps from sources other than the App Store. Epic Games is determined to make Fortnite available on iPads as soon as possible within the European Union.
