Agriculture workers in the San Luis Valley, Colorado are facing growing concerns about their behavioral health. To address this issue, community leaders have turned to the Total Worker Health® and Total Farmer Health® frameworks to develop an interactive worker wellbeing assessment.
A total of 118 participants completed the survey, providing enough data for analysis. This presentation will focus on assessing worker wellbeing by evaluating factors such as job satisfaction, coworker support, work affect, work fatigue, overall health status, chronic health conditions, individual stress, general mental health status, substance use, work injuries, social support, anxiety and depression.
The intended audience for this training includes agricultural industry leaders, health providers and behavioral health clinicians. By the end of the training participants should be able to identify sources of stress for agriculture workers in the San Luis Valley; recognize different levels of behavioral health risk factors; behaviors and outcomes; and evaluate behavioral health from a work-centric perspective.
