On a beautiful Saturday in Columbus, Ohio, nearly 2,000 people gathered for the On Our Sleeves 5K event to raise awareness and funds for children’s mental health. The race took place at the Columbus Crew’s Lower.com Field and was a community run and walk aimed at breaking stigmas and providing essential mental health resources.
The funds raised from the event will go towards providing free mental health resources through the On Our Sleeves foundation. It is crucial to continue discussing mental health and breaking down the stigmas associated with it, as emphasized by Whitney Raglin Bignall, the associate clinical director for Nationwide Children’s Hospital. By raising awareness and funds, individuals can come together to support the cause and help provide vital mental health resources.
Since its inception in 2018, over 6 million individuals across the United States have benefitted from the free pediatric mental health education resources offered by On Our Sleeves. To learn more about the organization and how to get involved, visit their website.
