At 2 a.m., it was two hours after midnight when the storm hit. One Facebook user wrote that he was woken up by a terrible thunder and thought it was an earthquake at first. Dunja Plačko Vršnak from DHMZ said in Good morning, Croatia that the weather was appropriate for the time of year and brought cyclones over our area, causing strong shocks and thunder. The EMSC tweet also confirmed how strong the thunder was, with many thinking it was an earthquake.
