‘We just will need the workforce:’ Framatome relaunches Nuclear Technologies Academy at CVCC

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Framatome announced on Thursday that they are relaunching their Nuclear Technologies Academy at Central Virginia Neighborhood College.

Initially beginning in 2004, Framatome has now committed $400,000 to this modernized plan that they say will support meet the requirements of a challenged workforce.

Katherine Williams is Framatome’s existing CFO, but quickly-to-be CEO, mentioned that as the demand for clean power increases, so does the will need for skilled workers. She mentioned that is exactly where Framatome comes in.

“We have the technologies. We just will need the workforce, the sources, people today who are committed and prepared to make the work by means of this plan to get educated, and then we will take it from there and give you lots of possibilities,” mentioned Williams.

Craig Ranson, Senior Vice President of Installed Base America at Framatome mentioned that the education and operate practical experience that students would be finding is one of a kind. Students can earn an Associate’s degree in Applied Science whilst functioning for Framatome.
