Student Business Innovations Shine in Creative Showcase at The Columns, Washington and Lee University

Washington and Lee University’s Connolly Center for Entrepreneurship is hosting its first Creative Showcase on April 4 from 5-8 p.m. The event will take place at the Houston H. Harte Center for Teaching and Learning in Leyburn Library and is open to the public free of charge.

The goal of the Creative Showcase is to bring together academic theory with entrepreneurial practice by providing W&L students with a platform to showcase their innovation and execution skills. Students have collaborated in groups to develop their own business concepts and products, giving them hands-on experience navigating the real-world dynamics of entrepreneurship.

Anushka Daunt, assistant professor of business administration, emphasizes the practical value of the showcase for W&L students. “Students not only learn how to develop projects in theory but also get the opportunity to present their work professionally, simulating a real business setting,” she says.

The Creative Showcase will feature a diverse range of innovations, from new applications that streamline social media usage to cutting-edge medical devices, consumable goods for daily use, and engaging board games. These projects represent interdisciplinary collaboration between various academic departments, highlighting the wide range of talents possessed by W&L students.
