Walt Disney World’s Test Track has recently shut down to make way for the third version of the popular EPCOT thrill ride. The attraction closed on Sunday, June 16, with construction walls already in place to block off the pavilion entrance. While Disney has not yet announced an official reopening date for the next-generation Test Track, it is estimated that the ride will remain closed for at least a year.
Imagineers, in collaboration with Chevrolet, are drawing inspiration from the original World of Motion attraction to create a renewed sense of optimism for the updated Test Track experience at EPCOT. The current version of Test Track, version 2.0, was introduced in December 2012. As part of Chevrolet’s sponsorship agreement with Disney, the attraction is now in line for a refresh.
In a piece of concept art for Test Track 3.0, the new entrance marquee is depicted as a more sleek arrival area. Imagineers are working hard to bring this vision to life and provide guests with an unforgettable experience on this iconic ride at EPCOT Park. Stay tuned for updates on the progress and reopening date of this highly anticipated new addition to Walt Disney World’s attractions portfolio.
