In a major acquisition, UVA Health announced its plans to take over Piedmont Family Practice in Warrenton, Virginia. The two parties have finalized a purchase sale agreement and expect the transaction to be completed by the summer as per a news release issued on May 7.
Piedmont Family Practice is home to a team of 90 employees, including seven physicians, 17 advanced practice providers, a registered dietitian, and a certified diabetic educator. Upon the completion of the acquisition, all current employees at the practice will remain employed under UVA Health ownership.
The practice offers three core clinical services: Piedmont Family Practice, which provides general health services; Piedmont Urgent Care, which offers COVID-19 testing and lab testing; and The Bariatric and Metabolic Weight Loss Center, which offers weight maintenance programs and mental health services. Overall, UVA Health’s acquisition of Piedmont Family Practice marks a strategic move to expand its healthcare services and offerings further solidifying its presence in the Virginia healthcare landscape.
