UVA Health Celebrates National Doctors’ Day with $10,000 Donation to Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic in Prince William County

In recognition of National Doctors’ Day, UVA Health has made a donation of $10,000 to the Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic in Manassas and Woodbridge. The clinic serves the uninsured and underinsured in the area and is committed to providing quality healthcare to the community of Prince William County.

The clinic offers a range of services including annual physicals, disease management, prenatal care, health and wellness classes, eye exams, and more. All the doctors and nurses working in the clinic volunteer their time to provide free medical care. In addition to medical care, the clinic also offers integrated services such as counseling, emergency food assistance, and workforce development.

Erik Shannon, Chief Operating Officer of Community Health at UVA Health, expressed gratitude for the dedicated physicians who serve patients in Prince William and surrounding areas. He thanked them for their hard work in providing quality care to patients and for their continued partnership with Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic.

Alexandra Luevano, director of the Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic, expressed appreciation for UVA Health’s ongoing support and generosity towards the clinic and its patients. She thanked them for their commitment to the clinic’s mission and for their strong partnership in supporting the health of the Prince William community.

This year, UVA Health has donated a total of $50,000 across its service area from Charlottesville to Northern Virginia and Culpeper in honor of National Doctor’s Day to various partners that share its commitment to providing quality healthcare to underserved communities.
