UofL Health doctors, coaches, and players from Louisville City FC and Racing Louisville FC gathered at Cardinal Station medical center to announce their new partnership. As part of this collaboration, UofL Health physicians will now oversee the medical care of the teams. Brett Hayes, vice president of UofL Health’s Sports Medicine Institute, mentioned that their team will be present on the sidelines during home games to address any emergencies or medical needs that may arise.
The partnership will provide players with a wide range of services and cutting-edge sports medicine. During the announcement, an example showcased was a special platform utilizing motion capture technology to assess the movement of athletes. This partnership will also benefit UofL Health as they will be able to utilize the research gathered while working with the players to enhance treatments for all patients in the future.
Head Coach of Racing Louisville, Beverly Yanez, expressed gratitude and excitement for the partnership, highlighting the privilege of having dedicated and knowledgeable individuals caring for the teams. With this new collaboration, soccer fans can anticipate seeing UofL Health’s name more prominently displayed at Lynn Family Stadium. Additionally, UofL Health has obtained naming rights to a field in the teams’ training facility.
In addition to providing top-notch medical care to athletes, this partnership signifies a merging of expertise and resources aimed at giving back to the local community through a community initiative aimed at increasing access to soccer for children in underserved areas.
