The trailer for Continent has been released, giving a sneak peek of the world premiere at the Munich International Film Festival. The horror-drama is a coproduction between Brazil, France, and Argentina, written and directed by Davi Pretto.
The movie follows a car weaving through the Brazilian countryside as one of its passengers remarks that it resembles the South of France. Amanda disagrees, saying it looks sad. Amanda is on a journey back to her isolated village where she grew up as her father is dying. As she becomes involved in a strange inheritance linked to a mysterious secret held by the villagers, tension builds.
As the plot unfolds, Amanda is advised to leave the village, as it appears to be harming her. Continent is Pretto’s third feature film, and he has completed his fourth film, Future Future, which is currently in post-production. The movie stars Olivia Torres along with Ana Flavia Cavalcanti, Corentin Fila and Breno De Filipo.
Continent was shot in Portugal and French languages but filmed in Brazil. It’s produced by Vulcana Cinema in partnership with Dublin Films, Murillo Cine and Pasto. Lights On based in Italy is handling sales for the film.
