The Department of Permit and Inspection Services in Buffalo has issued an order for a North Buffalo business to halt all operations due to operating without a license. This decision was made after the agency discovered that the establishment at 1783 Hertel Ave was operating without proper licensing, which violated various regulations. The action was taken following a large gathering observed by police outside the establishment around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday near Vorhees Avenue.
According to City spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge, the police issued citations to the owner for operating an illegal speakeasy, employing an unregistered bouncer, drinking and possessing alcohol in public places, and other violations. It is not clear what specific penalties the owner may face as a result of these citations.
