The annual maintenance of Olkiluoto 3 has been extended by four additional days, as reported by Power of Industry (TWO). This delay is due to the need for further research on the turbine-generator. According to TVO, the maintenance is now expected to be completed on May 14. However, TVO also stated that the annual maintenance of Olkiluoto 2 would end the following day, Thursday, and preparations for its start-up were already in progress.
Both Olkiluoto 2 and Olkiluoto 3 have experienced longer-than-planned maintenance schedules, impacting the start-up schedule of Olkiluoto 3. This delay has had an effect on electricity prices on the exchange in recent weeks. The original end date for Olkiluoto 3’s maintenance was April 8 and Olkiluoto 2’s maintenance was scheduled to end on May 6.
