Unanimously Recommended yet Controversial: Breuß’s Appointment as Secretary General of Austria’s Transportation Department

The transport section within the ministry is a critical department, both in size and economic significance. It oversees the entire mobility infrastructure, including the country’s transportation system. This department manages billion-euro financing for the ÖBB, as well as road construction, aviation, and shipping. Additionally, it is responsible for the digital agenda of public transport, such as the ticket shop and public transport sales system.
