The Titans’ defense received a boost this offseason with the addition of cornerbacks L’Jarius Sneed and Chidobe Awuzie. These new players, along with the team’s aggressive approach, are expected to help generate turnovers and improve field position.
One of the longest-tenured Titans defenders, Amani Hooker, faced a new challenge this offseason with the arrival of a new coaching staff. Despite his experience, he had to learn the new defensive scheme alongside his less experienced teammates. The new scheme is much more aggressive than what the team was doing in the past, but Hooker notes that the coaching staff has been instrumental in teaching when to be aggressive and when to hold back.
As part of his experience with the team, Hooker has identified the key differences in the new defensive scheme and remains focused on learning and improving within the system. He believes that if the defense can continue to be aggressive and make plays, it could set the stage for better offensive results as well.
