In an effort to promote health awareness, TidalHealth is hosting an upcoming HealthFest called “Care for Generations” on June 22nd. This event will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn how to stay healthy and receive services for free. Kat Rodgers, the lead for HealthFest, recently visited Good Morning Delmarva to share more about the event and how they are supporting the community.
Rodgers emphasized the importance of reaching out to communities that have not previously participated in such events. This year, the location of the HealthFest has been changed, and interpreters will be available for those who speak Spanish or Haitian-Creole. Attendees will have the chance to speak with professionals such as pharmacists, doctors, and phlebotomists at the event.
The services and information provided will cater to individuals of all ages, from young children to the elderly. In addition to healthcare services, free food will also be available as food scarcity has been a concern this year. Rodgers emphasized that it’s important for people to engage in an active lifestyle and learn more about how to care for themselves and future generations.
