Israeli Army confirms death of Hamas’ 3rd-in-command in recent Gaza attack

According to the Israeli Army, Marwan Issa, a senior member of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and ‘number 3’ of the organization, was killed during an airstrike in the Nuseirat refugee camp on March 10. The attack also claimed the life of Commander Ghazi Abu Tamaa, head of the combat and administrative assistance staff. The news was reported by ‘The Times of Israel’. Issa had played a key role in organizing the attacks that left around 1,200 dead and 240 hostages on October 7. His death was announced last week by the White House National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan.

Since then, more than 32,300 Palestinians have been reported dead as a result of Israel’s offensive against Gaza in response to the October attacks. Additionally, over 420 Palestinians have died due to the actions of security forces and Israeli settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Israel launched its offensive against Gaza after Hamas launched rockets into southern Israel on November 13. The conflict has continued since then and has resulted in significant humanitarian crises for both sides.
