A new trend has emerged in the world of weight loss, putting a unique twist on the Ozempic formula by using oats instead. Dubbed “Oatzempic,” this trend involves making a smoothie using regular oats, water, lime juice, and possibly a dash of cinnamon. Proponents of Oatzempic claim that drinking this smoothie every morning can lead to a weight loss of 40 pounds in just 2 months. The recipe is quick and easy to prepare, aiming to keep you feeling full for longer periods of time.
However, Jenny Reay, a registered dietitian and weight management coordinator at OSF HealthCare, advises caution when it comes to Oatzempic. While oats do offer health benefits, there is no scientific evidence to support the claim of such rapid weight loss with this drink. Reay emphasizes that meal replacement shakes provide essential nutrients like protein, fiber, carbohydrates, and vitamins that Oatzempic may lack.
