The Portland Pickles are making history once again by partnering with cannabis company Cycling Frog to become the first sports team in the US to legally sell THC products at live sporting events. This groundbreaking announcement was made by the baseball team on Tuesday.
Starting on June 18, fans attending games at Walker Stadium will be able to purchase Cycling Frog THC seltzers. Initially, two flavors will be available: Passionfruit and Lemon. Each can contains 2 MG of THC and 4 MG of CBD. The Portland Pickles are excited to provide this alternative option for their fans in partnership with Cycling Frog.
Ross Campbell, VP of Business Development for the Pickles, believes that taking innovative leaps and setting new precedents in the sports industry is important. The Pickles previously made history in 2019 by partnering with a CBD company, and Campbell believes that this new partnership with Cycling Frog will once again set a trend in the industry.
The sale of THC products at sporting events is legal in Oregon, and The Portland Pickles have consulted with the OLCC and Portland Parks and Recreation, who own Walker Stadium, to ensure that all regulations are followed. Cycling Frog products will be available at multiple locations within the stadium, including The Jack Daniels Party Deck Bar and Dillon’s Hideaway Bar, as well as a standalone point of sale inside the gates.
Fans must be 21 or older to purchase these THC products. The Portland Pickles and Cycling Frog are proud to offer this new option for fans in the city of Portland, setting a precedent for future partnerships in the sports industry.
