As the storm raged on in Windsor, Connecticut, residents and businesses were left to pick up the pieces and begin the recovery process. The powerful thunderstorms that hit on Wednesday had caused widespread damage, with a tree crashing through a home on Robin Road. Cleanup efforts were expected to take a significant amount of time as crews worked tirelessly to clear debris and restore power.

Eversource reported that tens of thousands of people were left without power after the storm. Despite progress made in restoring electricity, there were still a couple thousand customers waiting for their power to be restored. Local businesses were also feeling the impact of the storms, with some having to throw out inventory due to power outages affecting their ability to keep ingredients cool.

Business owners in the area expressed surprise at the severity of the storm and its effects on their operations. Michael Androw from E&D Pizza Company lamented the loss of their inventory ahead of a busy “pizza Friday,” noting that they would have to start from scratch in preparing for the day. Despite these challenges, power crews were working hard to restore electricity as quickly as possible to minimize the storm’s impact on the community.
