Belgium’s Centre for Exchange and Clearing has chosen SurePay to provide Verification of Payee technology for the country’s banking industry. The company was selected through an open tender process in collaboration with the Federation of the Belgian Financial Sector.
SurePay has been a leader in Verification of Payee since 2016, performing over 1.5 billion checks annually both domestically and internationally. Originally part of Rabobank, the company was spun off in 2022 and now offers Verification of Payee services to more than 100 banks in the UK and the Netherlands.
David-Jan Janse, CEO of SurePay, expressed his gratitude for being chosen by Belgian banks to provide Verification of Payee services. He highlighted that their multinational clients can now expand their capabilities, while Belgian banks can access a network of 100 banks to access additional services. This partnership will benefit both parties by enhancing their payment verification processes.
The integration with Swift PreValidation for EU and global reach played a significant role in SurePay’s selection as it provides them with a wide range of financial services across borders. This technology will help Belgian banks verify transactions quickly and accurately, reducing fraud and improving customer satisfaction.
