Joe Thuney ruled out with pectoral issue for Super Bowl 2024; Jerick McKinnon’s status uncertain for game time

On the eve of the Super Bowl, the injury report for both teams, San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs, is relatively light. The Chiefs will be without Charles Omenihu and Joe Thuney who has been ruled out with a pectoral injury. Nick Allegretti will continue to fill in for Thuney. Meanwhile, Rashee Rice, who was reportedly stepped on during practice, is expected to play without any issues. Jerick McKinnon has been activated from injured reserve and is likely to be a game-time decision.

On the other hand, George Kittle and Arik Armstead have fully participated in Friday’s practice and have been given no injury designation after being limited earlier in the week. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said he isn’t worried about their condition and they are expected to play in the Super Bowl. The game will air on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
