In Kuwait, the head of the Sunni session in the National Assembly, Representative Saleh Ashour, announced that the opening session of the Council will take place on Sunday, April 21. Despite a decree postponing it until May 14, Ashour stated that this decision was made to adhere to constitutional dates and ensure the smooth functioning of the legislative term.
Ashour also outlined the procedures for assuming the position of President of the Senate until the President of the Council is elected according to the Constitution. He emphasized that this move was necessary to avoid any constitutional suspicions and uphold the constitutional dates.
