The primary five class at St. Michael’s Primary recently celebrated their love for science, engineering, and technology alongside their parents. As part of the program, the students have been participating in workshops with DXC Technology to learn important ‘meta’ skills that will benefit them in the future.
Head teacher Colette Wallace expressed how fantastic the project has been for the primary five students. During a celebration of learning, the students delivered a presentation to explain what they had learned during the project. Following the presentation, parents were invited to visit different workstations that highlighted the skills their children had acquired.
There were opportunities for parents to engage in activities such as board games, coding, and engineering workshops. Holly Stanton and her friend Elody Rodgers shared their enjoyment of participating in the project, particularly in creating their own games on the computer. Michelle Muirhead from DXC Technology played a key role in leading the project and organizing the workshops, emphasizing the importance of exposing children to STEM opportunities and helping them develop essential meta skills.
Overall, it was an exciting event that showcased what the students have achieved and how much fun they have had working with DXC Technology on meta skills. The celebration of learning left a positive impression on both the students and their parents as they look forward to what lies ahead for them in STEM education.
