Snapchill Voluntarily Recalls All Canned Coffee Products Due to Potential Botulinum Toxin Presence

Due to concerns over the possibility of deadly botulinum toxin being present in its canned coffee products, Snapchill has voluntarily recalled all 296 of its products across the United States. While there have been no reports of illness caused by the company’s products, they are taking this precautionary measure to ensure customer safety.

The issue with the products was identified when the FDA notified Snapchill that they had not filed details of their manufacturing process as required by regulation. The company is now working on filing the appropriate notification with the FDA to address this issue and resume production within regulatory standards.

The World Health Organization states that botulinum toxin is extremely lethal and can inhibit nerve function, leading to respiratory and muscular paralysis. Symptoms of botulism usually manifest within 12 to 36 hours after exposure to the toxin and may include fatigue, blurred vision, and difficulty swallowing and speaking. Snapchill distributed its products through various coffee roasters, retail outlets, and its own website, and they are advising consumers to either destroy the products or return them to Snapchill or the place of purchase for a refund.

Snapchill has issued an apology for any inconvenience or concern this recall may cause and is working swiftly to resolve the issue. They are cooperating with the FDA to find solutions that will allow them to restart production within regulatory standards.
