Bing is a multi-sport athlete at Silver Bluff High School, where she participates in girls’ basketball, cheer, and track and field. She values the importance of always working towards goals both in and out of the classroom. Bing plans to pursue a degree in biology at Livingstone College, where she hopes to continue her athletic pursuits while staying engaged in various activities.
Bing credits her athletic family for instilling her love for sports and encouraging her to stay active. He spoke about the sacrifices he made during his training journey to achieve his dream. Walker reflected on how discipline was essential for him to forgo social events and focus on his athletic pursuits, which ultimately led him to the next level of competition.
Walker also expressed gratitude towards his coaches who have helped him throughout his journey. He thanked Coach Shauna Barfield for praising his selflessness as an athlete, noting his dedication to the relay team despite no prior experience. Walker’s decision to focus on team events instead of individual competitions helped him team place second at the state championship.
Overall, both Bing and Walker are excited about their future prospects in college sports while still maintaining their commitment towards their academic goals.
