A man has been arrested for stealing money from the tip jar at a Miami Beach business, according to Local 10 News. Jail records show that Jeffrey Lewis Scott, 33, was taken into custody on Wednesday on a petit theft charge. Police say he is the man captured on surveillance video earlier this week stealing money from the Bagel Time Cafe located at 3915 Alton Road.
The cafe’s owner, Josh Nodel, said that the thief seemed to only want cash and got away with $200. The crook went into the tip jar where they keep large bills, adding insult to injury. This incident comes after three instances in a matter of months where someone took down an Israeli flag hanging outside and stomped on it.
As of Thursday morning, Scott was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $2,500 bond. Copyright 2024 by WPLG Local10.com – All rights reserved.
