In a shocking turn of events, authorities uncovered a woman administering intravenous fluids to customers at a coffee shop in District 1 without a practicing certificate or operating license. The incident took place on Hoang Sa Street, where customers were seated on the second floor sipping their coffee while the woman performed an IV infusion in a concealed corner. The IV contained a mixture of saline solution, vitamin B, vitamin C, and glucose.
The woman offering this “sea water infusion service” was 32 years old and claimed to have completed a one-year primary medical course in the 4th Army Corps in 2009. Despite lacking a medical practice certificate, she had been providing infusions at home for two clients in June for a fee of VND350,000 per person. As a result of the inspection, the Department of Health fined her 80 million VND for practicing without a certificate and operating without a license, instructing her to cease her activities until all necessary documentation was obtained.
In addition to this discovery, authorities also found that the woman was advertising her services on Facebook under the title “Sea water infusion at home – Medical examination and treatment service at home in Ho Chi Minh City.” This page was associated with a medical service company in Binh Tan district that did not have a license to operate medical examination and treatment services. The company director explained that they had briefly provided home infusions but had since stopped operations, instead focusing on connecting doctors and nurses with customers through their website vmedi.com.vn.
The website currently has over 40 registered accounts, including 20 approved healthcare professionals who are available to provide services when needed. Despite the crackdown on unauthorized medical practices, it is clear that there is still demand for home medical services prompting strict regulation and oversight to ensure patient safety and wellbeing.
The incident serves as a reminder of how important it is for individuals to obtain proper credentials before offering any type of medical service to ensure patient safety and well-being. It also highlights the need for stricter regulation and oversight of such practices to prevent fraudulent activities from harming patients’ health.
Overall, this incident underscores the importance of ensuring that all healthcare professionals are properly licensed and regulated before performing any type of medical procedure or service. By doing so, we can help ensure that patients receive high-quality care while minimizing risks associated with unregulated healthcare practices.
It is important that we continue to monitor such incidents closely and take swift action against those who violate these regulations so that everyone’s health is protected.
