World Central Kitchen reveals the identities of employees who lost their lives in Gaza

WCK, a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering food to civilians in Gaza, has suffered a devastating loss with the recent deaths of seven employees due to Israeli airstrikes. The employees were on their way back from a mission when the strike occurred. Among those killed were Saifeddin Issam Aydan Abutaha, Lalzawami Frankcom, Damian Soból, Jacob Flickinger, John Chapman, James Henderson, and James Kirby.

Abutaha, Frankcom, Soból and Flickinger were part of the WCK relief team while Chapman, Henderson and Kirby were part of the security team. The group was leaving a warehouse in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza when they were hit by an Israeli airstrike.

Israeli Prime Minister expressed his regret over the incident calling it a “tragic event” and an “unintended strike.” José Andrés, founder of WCK called on Israel to stop indiscriminate killings and prevent any further loss of innocent lives. The organization had recently sent food shipments to Gaza with the employees delivering over 100 tons of food just days before the tragedy occurred.

The world mourns the loss of these brave humanitarians who traveled across the globe to provide aid to those in need following wars and natural disasters. Their deaths serve as a reminder of the dangers faced by humanitarian workers in conflict zones and highlights the urgent need for governments to take action towards ensuring their safety.
