Senator Jon Ossoff Brings Unprecedented Healthcare Resources to Columbus with Mobile Integrated Health Care Program

U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff has allocated resources to improve access to healthcare in the Chattahoochee River Valley. The Federal funding he is delivering to the Columbus Consolidated Government will help establish a Mobile Integrated Health Care Program in Columbus and Muscogee County. This program will involve a partnership between a Fire-EMS paramedic and a nurse practitioner to address the needs of chronic system users and disadvantaged residents by providing appropriate medical care.

Through this year’s bipartisan government funding package, Senator Ossoff was able to bring together Republicans and Democrats to secure $139,000 for the project. Mayor Skip Henderson and Fire/EMS Chief Sal Scarpa were instrumental in proposing this initiative, and Senator Ossoff expressed his gratitude for their leadership. The mobile health unit in Columbus aims to respond to emergencies and expand access to healthcare for the community.

Mayor B. H. “Skip” Henderson III expressed appreciation for Senator Ossoff’s efforts in making the Mobile Integrated Health Care Program a reality for the community. The Columbus Fire-EMS department will be using this program as part of the Columbus Correct Care initiative to provide the right resources to all residents in need.
