Annual Blood Drive Hosted by SCTC Health Science

Simpson County Technical Center (SCTC) held a successful spring blood drive on Feb. 6 in partnership with Mississippi Blood Services to celebrate Career and Technical Education Month. The event collected over 20 pints of blood, potentially saving many lives.

Students in the health science program at SCTC gained valuable skills through their involvement in the event, learning about event planning, teamwork, communication, and community engagement. They also developed a deeper understanding of the importance of blood donations in healthcare, which fostered empathy and a sense of social responsibility.

Brenda White, the health science instructor, played a crucial role in organizing the event and SCTC is grateful for her hard work in making it a successful and impactful initiative.
