Saving the Planet, One Tree at a Time: Pinelands Science Forum Focuses on Climate Change and Forestry Practices

The Pinelands Preservation Alliance is hosting a Pinelands Science Forum on June 13 to focus on the critical role of forests in addressing climate change. The forum will feature speakers from regulatory agencies, academia, and nonprofits who will discuss the importance of forestry practices in mitigating the impact of climate change.

Scientists and advocates will share their research on the benefits of tree planting, tools for identifying optimal locations, and the pros and cons of different forestry practices. The event aims to provide valuable insights into how forests can help combat climate change.

Early bird registration for the event is open until May 15 at a cost of $35 per person. After May 15, the registration fee is $45 until June 3. Those unable to attend can still access presentations recorded and shared publicly.

The forum will be held at PPA’s renovated barn in Southampton, featuring a light breakfast and lunch, as well as a tour of PPA’s Rancocas Creek Farm.
