Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Booms in 2023, Surpassing International Tourism Standards

During the first quarter of 2023, Saudi Arabia experienced a significant increase in spending by foreign visitors. According to data from the Saudi Central Bank, the growth rate of this spending was 22.9%, compared to the same period in 2019. The total spending by these visitors exceeded 45 billion riyals ($11.99 billion), resulting in a surplus of 24 billion riyals. This represents an increase of over 46% compared to the same period in 2019.

The success of the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia is evident in its position as number one on the United Nations Tourism List for growth rate and international tourists and revenues. This achievement places it among the top major tourist destinations globally, highlighting its efforts to promote and expand its tourism industry.

Saudi Arabia continues to attract visitors from around the world and enhance its tourism offerings, providing memorable experiences for travelers. The increase in spending by foreign visitors reflects their growing interest in Saudi Arabia as a tourism destination, which bodes well for its future development.
