In December 2016, a crowd of people gathered next to the Berkeley Green in Saranac Lake to witness the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department’s snorkel truck during the department’s third annual Lighted Fire Truck Parade.
The event is set to return on Friday, Dec. 1, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the fire truck parade kicking off at 6 p.m. The parade will feature area fire departments coming together in unity and collaboration, with Santa Claus joining in as a very special guest. The parade route will take fire trucks from Broadway to Main Street.
Following the parade, festivities will continue with a tree lighting ceremony in Berkeley Green from 6:15 to 7 p.m., featuring Santa taking center stage and lighting the tree while everyone is invited to join in a holiday sing-along with Northern Lights Choir. Warm cookies and hot cocoa will be available next to the bonfire.
Kids have an opportunity to visit Santa from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Saranac Lake Free Library, where they can share their wish-lists with Santa and capture the moment with a photo
